The Wedding coverage usually starts at the Brides leaving address with shots of the Bride, Bridesmaids, Pageboys and the Brides parents, either indoors or in the garden. This is normally one hour before the time of the wedding. I like to allow half an hour for this which leaves me enough time to get to the wedding venue and park, ready for the arrival of the Bride. On arrival, pictures are taken of the bridal party with the car and in the doorway of the church (or civil venue).
The photographs taken during the ceremony largely depend on the Vicar or Registrars, but anything that is allowed will be done, i.e. walking down the aisle, signing the register, etc.
After the ceremony a selection of photographs of the Bride and Groom, Bridesmaids & Pageboys, Best Man, and Ushers will be taken. All of the traditional group photographs are taken where possible, namely Brides relatives, Bridegrooms relatives, Friends, Work Colleagues, Total Group (where space permits). Any additional groups or friends are also catered for if anybody asks!. Photographs of the Bride & Groom with their Grandparents are also very popular. Why not have a generation photograph taken. e.g. Bride, Groom, Parents, Grandparents, and children if you have any?.
After all the photographs at the venue are done, it` s time for the confetti and car photographs and off to the reception for the cutting of the cake photographs.
This is just a generalisation of the photographs that I take. As every wedding is different, I have to adapt to the style that the couple prefer or conditions allow. Basically, If I see a picture that looks good, I will take it!.
On an average wedding, I normally take 70 - 80 photographs.
